This electronic key cabinet is ideal for situations where multiple users require access to keys. The cabinet can help to reduce the costs of replacing locks and keys due to losses and personnel changes.

There is no key to the cabinet that can be lost, stolen or misappropriated. Access is by a user-defined code of between four and ten digits, which is entered via the telephone style keypad. For security purposes, should a wrong code be entered more than three times in succession, the cabinet will remain locked for five minutes.

The unit is battery operated and the locking system functions for approximately 4,000 operations before the batteries need changing. In the event that the battery becomes completely depleted, connecting a fresh battery to the external emergency power-up contacts and entering the correct code can still unlock the cabinet. In the event that all users forget the code, the registered owner can obtain a factory set code. Features include an optional sign out system.

A display provides audible and visible warning signals, including low battery. An optional economy mode doubles the life of the battery. The numbered and coloured key hook bars are adjustable, which means that keys of differing sizes can be accommodated. The control index is removable.
