The Series 55 is appropriate for enclosures, electric panels, cabinets, machinery covers, street furniture and other applications where frequent access is required, with the added convenience of a slam shut action. Operating the latch is very simple. Opening is by the use of an ‘industry standard’ 8mm tri-drive key, and re-locking by simply closing the door to re-engage the latch. The Series 55 is ideal for applications where the mounting space is limited, helped by the 22mm diameter low profile bezel and the compact 20mm body length.

There is a choice of right hand (clockwise) or left hand (anti-clockwise) operation. A 25mm long x 2mm thick stainless steel latching cam is fitted. The 8mm tri-drive key is available separately, to match customer requirements. The latch has a bright chrome plated finish, fits a standard 19mm x 16mm ‘double D’ hole piercing and is fixed by a standard 22mm hex body nut. The lock is designed to be used on sliding doors or hinged lids, rather than traditional side-hung hinged doors.
