The Series 30 range of square rim locks is ideal for office furniture and cabinets that may be required to hold confidential information, laptop computers or other valuable items and can also be used on storage chests, wardrobes and many other applications. These rim locks provide a level of security that is well above the average for a disc tumbler type, combined with a modern design and smooth operation. The double entry keyway means that the key can be inserted either way up, for the user’s convenience.
The rim lock can be specified in one of three versions: with a vertical bolt throw (Product Code Number 3020), for right hand doors (3021) or for left hand doors (3022). The lock incorporates a positive-click index locking/unlocking action. The locking bolt is manufactured from 2.5mm nickel plated steel and has a throw of 9mm.
Up to 500 key combinations are available as standard and 2,000 by special order (subject to a minimum order quantity). The key combination is marked on both the lock face and the key, making it easy to order replacement or additional keys. The locks may be specified to be keyed alike or keyed to differ and either with or without a master key. The key movement is 180º and the key is removable in the locked and unlocked positions.
The lock cylinder can be replaced quickly and simply by the user, for instance when the security has been compromised. This avoids the cost of replacing the complete lock. A Remover Key is used to withdraw the original cylinder, which can be ordered using Product Code Number 7230064.
The Series 30 can be specified without a cylinder, if required. The Product Code Numbers for these options are: with a vertical bolt throw 5020, for right hand doors 5021 or for left hand doors 5022.
The die-cast zinc alloy construction allows us to offer this rim lock at a very competitive price, making it attractive to OEMs that purchase in volume. The finish is bright chrome plate, which will enhance the appearance of any application. The keys are nickel plated brass.
Designed for a panel thickness of 25mm, these locks can also be used on 19mm thick panels with a black ABS plastic spacer, Product Code Number 8510015. The locks may be installed in panels down to 9mm in thickness but the cylinder will protrude by up to 10mm in these circumstances. Fixing is by four 3mm countersunk screws (not supplied). A rose is supplied with the lock as standard to give a smart appearance when fitted.
