This industrial standard safe has a sliding top that gives easy access to the safe below, making it ideal for the secure transportation of laptop computers, hand-held electronic devices, drugs and medicines, cameras, scientific instruments, valuable tools, jewellery and vital documents. Enhanced security is achieved by having two locks fitted to the safe. One enables the safe to be removed from the base-plate, the other gives access to the safe itself.
The IS3 is designed for direct installation into a vehicle or onto a strong counter. Additional base units are available where two or more vehicles are in use. Normally, we recommend that the keys are not held by the driver of the vehicle (or their escort) but kept in a secure location at the operating base.
Lock options available include keyed to differ, keyed alike, master keyed and reprogrammable systems. The locking operation is ‘push to lock, key to open’. The safe is usually supplied with two Series T8 high security ten pin radial pin tumbler locks that have a hardened steel construction and patented Octagon mechanism. However, locks are sold separately to enable you to choose the most appropriate locking system.
The safe is constructed from ‘Zintec’ zinc coated mild steel. All welded joints conform to ISO D1S79956, Part 3. A blue epoxy powder coating gives the safe an attractive and durable finish.
