| The cam may be either a conventional cam with a leading and trailing edge or an actuator cam that also drives rods when the handle is turned. The cam can be flat or cranked and there is a very wide range of lengths to choose from. Most of the swing handles with a Euro profile (keyhole shaped) lock can be specified with one of four levels of security. For applications requiring excellent security, Camlock’s high security lock has a patented mechanism designed to prevent unauthorized duplicate keys being cut in key cutting outlets. Where a moderate level of security is required, a cylinder lock can be specified. For frequently used applications that require low security, most of these swing handles can be specified with one of a range of industry-standard drivers, that provides a simple and convenient fastening. Some types of swing handles can also be specified with no lock or in a version designed to be secured with a padlock. |

The gearbox extends and retracts the locking rods and most types of swing handle are also fitted with a cam, to provide three point locking. Most gearboxes are durable die-cast zinc alloy, although some types are polyamide to achieve a competitive price. This range of quarter turn cam locks is designed to fit the widely used single or double 50mm x 25mm cut-out. A simple lift and swing of the handle operates the cam and/or the remote latches in one smooth action. The upper and lower rods operate in opposite directions to close the latches. The cam, where fitted, pulls the door closed using a light compression force. | A wide range of industry-standard round and flat rods, rod guides and rod adaptors and roller catchers is available. The very prevalent round rods are supplied in 400mm, 500mm, 600mm, 700mm, 800mm, 900mm and 1,000mm lengths. Flat rods come in the standard 1,020mm length and 14mm width, with several options as to the amount of crank. Flat rod is also available with locking pins, if required. |
