Shaft locking system for cabinets, panels, hatches and other applications – 5006
This innovative product can be used either as a surface-mounted lock for cabinet doors or as additional protection for panels, hatches and other applications situated in locations that are unsupervised or which may be targeted by thieves. It can also be used as a superior alternative to the traditional security bar that has an unsightly metal strip secured by a padlock. The 5006 can be mounted horizontally, vertically or at any angle in between.
The locking system comprises three main parts. The industrial strength, steel shaft is 16mm (0.63”) in diameter and has a black nickel plated finish. The standard shaft length is 395mm (15.55”), although other lengths are available, subject to a minimum order quantity. The robust zinc alloy die-cast lock housing has a smart black powder coated finish and is supplied with a steel internal reinforcing plate to prevent pull attacks. The housing is fitted using four high tensile strength, steel, recessed, black, M6 bolts (supplied). The strong shaft bracket is manufactured from steel with a smart black powder coated finish and has its own steel internal reinforcing plate. The bracket is secured using two recessed, domed head, steel, black, M8 bolts (supplied).
The ingenious design allows you to choose the appropriate level of security and to upgrade that level of security at a later date if, for example, the risk to the application increases. The lock housing accepts any of eight insert locks produced by Camlock Systems:
- - 10 pin, extra security, ‘Octagon Bullet’, hardened steel body and core — BT88871RL
- - 10 pin, extra security, ‘Octagon’ — T88871RL

All of the insert locks available can be configured to be compatible with other Camlock products used by a customer, eg. existing machine door locks, providing ‘one key fits all’ convenience. For applications that would benefit from a flexible steel cable, rather than a rigid shaft, please see the
